Kelvedon is a village and civil parish in the Braintree district of Essex, roughly 9 miles south-west of Colchester. About Kelvedon
- Kelvedon sits on the old Roman road between Londinium and Camulodunum (London and Colchester), where a small Roman settlement called Canonium once stood.
- The village grew substantially in the Victorian era after the Norwich to London railway arrived, making it commutable for the first time; Kelvedon railway station is still on the Great Eastern Main Line today.
- In the late 19th century Kelvedon became known for seed growing, home to the firm Kings Seeds, which is now part of Associated British Foods.
